    Hi all
Asking a question on behalf of a friend.
The guy is on Permanent disability Benefit due to an accident he was involved in.
    He owns his own house.
Is he able to rent a room under the 14k per annum tax exempt scheme, without that interfering with his disability benefit from a department of social protection point of view?
    Thanks.

I'd strongly suggest asking this in the State Benefits forum. People here have limited knowledge of welfare regulations, esp when it comes to the less-commonly-received benefits.

Too my knowledge it will only effect means tested welfare payments.

Contributory pension isn't effected but non contributory could be. I can't comment on your friends scenario with any real confidence
