I was drunk one night and I sent an message on facebook to my former secondary school teacher saying 'expect me at your house tomorrow'. The gardai arrived to my house yesterday when I was not at home and told my mother that I sent an threateningmessage to my former teacher. Is this message actually a threat? And also can I get in trouble for this? And can I just deny that I sent this message even though it came from my Facebook account? The gardai are now trying to ring me as my mother gave them my phone number?

Answer it, own up, apologise and maybe they'll accept your apology, and yes if it was sent to me I'd take it as a threat but the difference being I'd be at your house in the morning first

That’s a fairly scumbag thing to do. I’d be ringing the guards too.

If you threatened her its a threat. The fact you had a few sherrys on you ? It would to my mind be the same.

If i punch you, get arrested.... i tell gardai... " sorry was having a bad day, had about 6 pints to destress it wont happen again... the fact remains... .ive still assaulted you....

Tell the guards not to be discussing the allegations with your mother.

    You can't turn back time.
All you can do is apologise and undertake to never contact her again.

And also pay that hotel bill that's still outstanding.

Yes, it's a threat. Yes, you can get in trouble for it.

Go home, tell your parents what you did. Give some proper, deep consideration as to why this would be seen as threatening, how you would honestly feel if you'd received a message like that, then write a letter explaining why you're sorry. Ask your parents to read it. Don't send it.

Phone the gardaí and speak to them like a human. If they ask you to come to the station to make a statement, then speak to a solicitor first, and show the solicitor the letter you've written. If they "just" give you a well deserved bollocking over the phone, thank your lucky stars and assure them that you're sorry, won't do it again, and mean it.

    Own up and apologise.
You will likely get off with a slap on the wrist I would say.

    Also grow up

Contact the Gardai, you can't run from them.Be humble and tell them it was a very stupid prank due to alcohol. And if possible apologise to the person you scared the sh8te out of.You might be let off with a warning about your future behaviour. You silly person.
