Airlock Firebird Boiler

    Hi all,

Ran out of oil earlier this year, and now the boiler is air locked with new delivery of oil. I tried unscrewing the bleed valve with an Allen key behind the red cover, I was to expect air to his out then oil but nothing. My next port of call is to take off the flexible pipe with a spanner to try to bleed from there.
Should I have the heating system turned on inside the house when I am bleeding?

    Thanks
