    Theres an app you can download on Google store that will tell you the value once you input the serial number, I think you have to buy it though, rule of thumb I was usually told is the bigger French/German motors (VW Mercedes etc.)are in around 3 to 400 euro bracket, any of the smaller from 50 to 200 euro, although depending on some models could be worth as much as a grand for the right one, spurious aftermarket cars are usually worthless

    I think you get one or two free searches a day... might have changed though.

    I sold 3 from mk4 tdi's recently got 200.
