I have a firebird with Riello burner .The unit worked quietly until recently now burner seems to get noisier for a minute or two and then ease off , like a car in a low gear . Has anybody any ideas ??

Slipping pump coupler. Pump failing. Motor bearings. Hard to say really.

If it's bearings it can keep going for a while. my motor has bearings gone for couple of winters at least but still going . When I got it serviced last the lad said could go at any time but not worth fixing as boiler needs replacing soon anyway.
