A family member received a text from Bank of Ireland today.  Is it a genuine text or a scam.

He has a Credit Card for years & is able to pay it off by transferring from his Current Account & is able to see the account transactions on-line

.It says " We have noticed that you have a credit card which is not registered on 365 on-line, right now.  We thought it might be helpful for you to be able to see the status of your credit card so we'll we adding it to your 365 on-line profile by the end of October. When it is registered on 365 on-line, you'll receive electronic statements and we will stop providing paper statements. You can revert back to paper statements at any time by updating statement preferences on 365 on-line. If you don't want us to add your Credit card, please text DECLINE"

What is this text about then. Do I need to do anything. There is so many scams nowadays!

    Thank you .

    Hi hillbloom,

Thanks for getting in touch with us here today. This is a legitimate text being issued by Bank of Ireland. There is no further action required by the cardholder and the credit card account will automatically be added to their online profile so that they can view credit card transactions along with their current account.

Please be advised that the bank will never send any email or text asking our customers to disclose account password information in full. We hope this helps and that you remain safe and well.

    Thanks Jen
