IRP online renewal issue..

Can anyone advise on how to go about this.

My CSEP was applied on 30 June, and no update was received towards the end of July for CSEP. My Stamp 1G IRP was nearing expiry on 4th Aug so I applied for its renewal on 26 July. My CSEP was approved on 31st July 2020 just a few days after my IRP submission.

My CSEP is now in effect as of 29 Sep and my company is asking for my employment visa for their record, I'm unable to apply for Stamp 1 online as the I receive the error "Your expiry date should be no more than one month from today's date", and this error does not allow me to proceed to the payment page either.

I could not find any where else or how to go about this as I did not receive any reply from Burgh Quay office having tried to reach them via email, and Change of permission stamp/registration email as well.

Any thoughts on how to go about this.

A Stamp 1G allows you to work. You can provide them with your current Stamp 1G permission and IRP/GNIB card, and then when you renew under a Stamp 1 with your Critical Skills permit, you can provide your employer with your new stamp and card at that time.

    Hi.

The company does not understand the immigration systems and is asking for Stamp 1 so I'm stuck.

I'm thinking of sending the documents via post to Burgh Quay with a letter explaining the situation as I'm unable to submit for renewal via the online portal.

Now I have my Critical Skills Permit and based on existing online system I will only be able to submit next year, that could cause an issue with the company.

    Thanks.

Your only option at this stage, other than emailing the office and probably never getting a reply, might be to make an appointment for a new registration and try and plead your case in person when you get there. Odds of success might not be very high, though; as far as I know, there's no official pathway to change status from a Stamp 1G to a Stamp 1 outside of the renewal period because it isn't necessary.

Either that or try to educate your new employer on the immigration rules and that you are legally permitted to work for them on a Stamp 1G and will have no problem converting it to a Stamp 1 on foot of your existing Critical Skills permit once it's due to expire in a month. Obtaining an employment permit doesn't invalidate your Stamp 1G permission; the employment permit is separate from your residence permission. Your Stamp 1G permission remains in force until it expires, allowing you to reside in Ireland under its terms (which include working for any employer), while separately the Critical Skills permit allows you to take up employment for your specific employer regardless of your residence permission (which doesn't actually matter while you're still under the Stamp 1G, but will be taken into account when you change status to a Stamp 1 upon renewal of your residence permission).

Thanks for both the suggestions, appreciate your time.
