Completing training courses during a Community Employment scheme?

    Hi
Since starting a C.E scheme last year, I have completed 2 training courses & have just started a third training course.
Just wondering is there a 'rule' specifying a certain number of couses a C.E. participant must complete during their time on the scheme or is it up to the participant on a case by case basis?

    Thanks in advance.

You’ve asked this previously, OP. Have you asked your CE Supervisor?

I’d do as many as possible! And as varied, unless you are aiming for a particular job.

    Thanks for reply.

Sorry for asking again but was just wondering for anyone who has participated on C.E. in the past know if there is a specific number of courses that a participant has to do as part of participation on C.E.

It seems whenever I finish one course, I am told to find another course to do, and I have spoken to a career guidance counsellor about courses I'd be required to do as part of my chosen career and I've all required courses nearly all completed thus far.
Is it compulsory to continuously do training courses all throughout my time on the scheme? I'm all out of ideas for more training courses to do at this stage.
    Thanks.

You are being paid to upskill, why are you resisting the opportunity? Again, the only person who can answer your specific questions is your CE supervisor or your line manager in the organisation you’ve been placed with - ask them! Random people on the internet aren’t going to know what is in your personal development plan, they all vary. Our company works with the CE scheme; each placement is different and each development plan depends on the individual’s previous experience and training, and their future plans. It sounds like you have a decent placement, with opportunity for development. It also sounds like you want to move on to regular employment, so use these free opportunities while you can.

    Thanks.

I understand that it is compulsory to be undertaking training throughout.

If you are running out of courses, then it sounds like you should have finished up the scheme and have moved on to a real job.

Remember, even though your "placement" says it is for however-long, you are free to leave at any time. And you should as soon as you find paid employment.

Thank you for all the replies.

Just wondering are C.E. participants allowed to take up another further C.E. placement elsewhere after their current C.E. contract ends with one organisation?

Your supervisor is the one with all the info you need. Or you’ll find it here. https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employment/unemployment_and_redundancy/employment_support_schemes/community_employment_scheme.html
