    Hi all,

We are trying to find the depth to water table on a potential site for potential single house build.

Dug a 2.2m deep hole, 1m sq, as per instruction. There was 340 mm of water in the test/trial hole after 48 hours.

    Q. How can I calculate the depth to water table?

P.s WE had a result of 74 for T value.

Thanking you in advance for replies.

    this is confusing

the trial hole is not a test hole.. so it cant be a test/trial hole

was there 340mm of water in 2.2m deep hole?

if so, then the water table level (currently) is at -1.86

Yes, of course a Trial hole and yes that was the depth of water and depth of the hole.

Thank you for your response and info provided. Much appreciated.

You have to determine if the water in the hole is collected rainwater or if it's there permanently. If it's permanent then it's the current position of the water table so you just measure from ground level to the top of the water and that's the depth of the water table.

Bear in mind that it will quite likely rise over the winter.
