Avon ZV5 were very grippy but only last nine months on a mix of town and country roads had them in 225/35/18 on my ST focus at the time.
    Were €130 each fitted

    Premium - Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5
    235/40/18 around €135 fitted.

    Budget - Kumho Ecsta PS71
    235/40/18 around €105 fitted.

If you want ditch finders just pick the funniest brand name. Linglong is my personal favourite.

I have used both Michelin Energy Savers and Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance for the past couple of years and find them both to be very good.

    Or pirelli cinturato

    Both grippy and last

Scirocco comes with Cinturatos from the garage, excellent tyre imo.

I've always stuck with Michelin pilot sports, car has never once lost grip even when they were old and get unbelievable mileage out of them.

Another vote here for Michelin PS4S
Replaced OEM Good years and Bridgestone's on both mine and wifes car with PS4S
Both rear wheel drive, totally different cars afterwards, exceptional grip and decent mileage returns.
I wouldn't put anything else under a car going forward

They're expensive but worth the price, I recently changed the front two tyres for 280 euro

What mileage are you getting from them? I'll need to change the OEM supplied Nexen's on the superb, they've served me very well indeed I'll get close to 40,000 km from them which I'm delighted with.
