Router question

I've just switched from Vodafone to Sky. I've gone into new sky router and copied Vodafone SSID and password with same encryption type and separated the channels to 2.4 GHZ and 5 as per the HG659 router I had with Vodafone. Surely my previous devices should automatically connect? Am I missing something? Thanks.
