Up for a barring order hearing

My friend is up for a barring order hearing mid November. He confronted his wife about an alleged affair which he has found out has happened through recording a conversation she had with her brother when she was in her car. He has 4 kids with her and has been married for over 20 years.

The guards came to the house at 1am in the morning. Clearly she stated that she was in fear of him. A protection order has since been issued to my friend & he is up for a hearing mid November.

What likely is going to happen during the hearing & how should he prepare for this. He will also get a family law solicitor, but would appreciate any comments. His head is a mess at the moment.

He should get legal advice, on both the barring order, and if his recording broke any laws...
