fence question

    Hi

So I have a really really dodgy neighbours. The garden wall is between 3.5 and 5 feet all the way along on their side in the back. I have bushes and trees all along but one of the neighbours (mental health problems) leans across my wall and saws branches of 2inches in diameter to the point that the hedge in one are has holes in it. He then shoves the branches over my wall behind the bush.

now I used to pay my gardener to cut his side as well to try and keep the peace but he abuses the gardener every time and he will no longer set foot on his property.

So they built extension and two of the windows overlook my 12 yr old daughters bedroom and I asked would they allow me to raise the wall there by 2 blocks to give her privacy and they refused.

So I put a separate trellis fence about 6.5-7 ft high inside the boundary. to give her privacy. Neighbour on the other side did same for our wall. I put fence up yesterday and nutty neighbour is shouting abuse over the wall at me and doing something to it on his side.

I have tried to be good and put up with so much from these neighbours over the years as I know there are mental health issues. But last time he ranted at me, another neighbour came to try and rescue me after 15 minutes. My kids are afraid of him.

Was I allowed to put up that fence? I thought I was as it wasn't the boundary wall. It is only 5 feet wide. It litterally gives the bedroom privacy.

Any advice? I am still also faced with what he is doing to the bushes.

Im assuming this is to the rear of the house. If the fence is on your side of the boundary then it should be fine so long as it doesnt exceed 2 metres in height otherwise you would require planning permission.

Cannot get 2nd photo. But suffice to say you could not see through the hedge.

    😂 sorry!

The picture that did load shows the holes in the hedge. The picture that I cannot load shows a full hedge that you cannot see through.

    I need a new phone lol 😂

Second photo is probably too large you need to resize it before loading
