Drove a Caddy once and yes I agree you are getting the cheapest VW base seat. Best option is getting a Passat Highlne seat from a Breakers..

Ya they're very uncomfortable.

As above a better set of seats from something else in the vag range would be the best solution.

Have a google around to see what's the handiest option. I believe vw touran bases combined with whatever seat you decide on is the handiest way to fit upgrades.

I find part of the problem with them is that the bulkhead doesn't let you tilt the seatback very much either and it leaves the seatbase and seatback at almost 90 degress to each other which isn't very comfortable.
