Hi. Wife wants to get the outside of our house painted. It’s been 7 yrs since las5 painting

We got the bead insulation drilled into the walls a few weeks ago and so need to paint to clean up the repaired holes

    So my questions are

    1. Is there an App that you can impose a Color onto a picture of your house???

    2. Wife wants to go a 2- shades of Contrasting grey. Anyone recommend a nice combination of Grey? Light grey for walls and a dark grey for the coving and borders

Hope this doesn’t come across as ‘silly’ as I just no good at colors etc

Dulux app does that I think, used to use it for internal walls anyway.

Just finished one today in that combo. You can get the DUlux app which will allow you to transfer colours. Just to add, if you got your walls pumped. the holes that were filled will still stand out no matter what you do. Also, getting on in the year for exteriors so you will want to move fast

Feck it.... was hoping that the sanding down of the hold will be enough to hide them under the paint!!!!! Yes.... getting on in time!! But painter is good to go just waiting on us to pick the paint!!!

Is it too late in the year to paint the exterior.
How long will it take to dry

No. depends on how warm and how strong the air movement is. ( If you are using water based)

light grey gets no more dirty than any other colour

The colour is the least important-the right paint is the most important. Consider a natural, highly breathable paint which is much more suited to our climate and you can also tick the eco friendly and sustainable box at the same time. Unless you want to hire that painter every 6 to 8 years???

Goosewing grey for the body of the house and slate grey for around the windows and the windowsills etc. Think the goosewing is Dulux and the slate grey is Fleetwood

Just painted our house with that dulux goosewing and the dulux merlin around the sills and windows.Looks great and the Missus is delighted with it.

Went through a lot of testers before I got the combination right..:D

I never like mixing paint brands outside the house, the few times I did it the paint on the surrounds always peeled of within 2 years where it had some of the main paint underneath. Maybe I was just unlucky and the house facing ssw probably doesn't help either.

I painted the outside of mine in grey with black surrounds using Fleetwood paint. They have a nice exterior brochure you can pick up in woodiies etc or by requesting on their website.
We used one of the suggestions from that and it's looks great .Our neighbours made encouraging noises too so herself well pleased with my work ;)

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

Spread the word about those lads then. I have yet to see holes filled properly after the walls were pumped. Most just fill, leave smooth (ish) and feck off.
