Killowen Dark Rum

Anyone familiar with the Irish whiskey scene would most likely heard of Killowen, known for some quality small batch releases.

They have just launched a new Irish Dark Rum, if the other releases are anything to go by ( realising that they did not distil the whiskey) it should be tasty.

I'll be grabbing some anyway, anyone else?

I got to taste this yesterday.
It's a very good rum. Very refined and tasty.
    I really liked it.

Didn't have it in Bradley's, Cork, though.
I'd love to get my hands on a bottle. I'd say it'll be pricy, mind.

If I'm not mistaken, it's the first Irish made rum.

I'd love to try it but it's just a little outside my price range, especially for a rum. Great to see all the things they are coming out with at Killowen though.

Black's claims that one, since 2018. Unfairly?

I always thought Íon Distillery in Tyrone got there first.

Spiced, so not, technically, a rum.
Don't know if they made the base or not - I think they may have.

    Is Black's Golden Rum spiced?

New one on me. Must check it out.

They used to be Pokertree Brewing but switched to distilling. They're not very prominent at all though.

    It would seem not.
    I stand corrected.
I haven't tried that one, only the spiced.

Big blaze of publicity and then silence. I had mostly forgotten about them.

It's getting some great feedback so far anyway.
I grabbed some, looking forward to delivery.
65 quid for a 500ml bottle. I'd wager it will fly out with the Killowen fan base.

I got a notice that mine has shipped.

    Where'd you get it?

KMW wine in Newry. Never dealt with them before but prompt shipping etc. No hassles.

Still haven't opened that rum. Saving it for my Venezuelan friend's birthday.

Got mine and it's tasty, bit more complex than other rums I've had but I'm no expert.
Tis hefty at 55% (I think) and the alcohol shows through

    How much is it?
