Seat Ateca no spare wheel

Hi guys my Ateca (Seat Ateca 1.0 TSI SE Ecomotive) only comes with the puncture repair kit so I was looking to get a spare wheel for it.

Looking online there are two options a 17" and 18" space saver.

My tyre currently is 215/55 R17, so I'm assuming I'd buy the 17"?

do you mean 17 space saver or 17 real wheel ?

if you can get a real one in to the spare space , id do that .

i ordred a real steel spare for my car when i got it

17 space saver no room for full one. I'm assuming if you've normal 17" tyre you use a 17" space saver.

There us also an 18" space saver option for the Ateca.

damn, well then get the 17 incher .

to be honest , even if i had no deep wheel space ( i do though in mine )

id carry a real wheel in the boot - if i do long trips very often.

ive used mine twice and it makes a difference between 80 kmh to a garage
and 120 kmh all the way home - and not one f*ck given - on a long distance run.

Do people get punctures often?

Last time I had to change a tyre as a result of a puncture was over 3 years ago.

I can see why spare wheels can be considered dead weights!

In my experience punctures never happen at a convenient time.

If you are setting out on a journey on a Sunday a puncture with no spare will seriously spoil your day.

OP if I was you I'd buy a full size spare. People might say "how often do you get a puncture?" but the better question is "how often do you use the full boot space ?"

The space saver should be adequate if you drive within its limitations ie speed.
I've done about 200,000Km in my current car, I purchased a space saver when I got the car & thankfully have never used it.
