Hello there, I am sure someone here can make sense of what I am trying to do. I recently bought Microsoft flight simulator and of course I didn’t check the specs first and my pc won’t run it. I am on a budget and I may have found a solution but more sure if it will all work out.
Microsoft say the minimum spec is....
    Minimum configuration

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
    RAM: 8 GB
    OS: Windows 10 64-bit
VIDEO CARD: Radeon RX 570 or GeForce GTX 770
    PIXEL SHADER: 5.0
    VERTEX SHADER: 5.0
    FREE DISK SPACE: 150 GB
    DEDICATED VIDEO RAM: 2048 MB
    Recommended configuration

CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or better
    RAM: 16 GB
    OS: Windows 10 64-bit
VIDEO CARD: Radeon RX 590 or GeForce GTX 970
    PIXEL SHADER: 5.1
    VERTEX SHADER: 5.1
    FREE DISK SPACE: 150 GB
    DEDICATED VIDEO RAM: 4096 MB

My solution is cost effective for me but can anyone tell me if this would work ok and could I install this graphics card into this machine

Here is what I can get

    HP800g2 /i7 6700/ 16gb ram/ 50.gab hdd/ windows 10
    Looking to install
    GE force gtx 9704gb gddr5

I hope this makes sense to someone who can tell me if I am doing the right thing
    Thanks in advance all

I assume you mean 500gb hdd above not 50

This one has a 1650 installed so putting a 970 in it should not be an issue. Open it up and make sure it has the pci slot necessary for a graphics card addon

It will improve things but still look pretty poor as the new PC will still be at the very low end of what's feasible, the game to look nice and play well needs ridiculous specs.

The Virtual Flying forum can probably guide you further as they are debating specs etc. already - https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1070
