Moving toilet sideways

Hi all. We want to move a toilet and soil pipe about 5-6 inches to one side. It would make a big difference to the bathroom layout overall. The soil pipe currently goes through the wall of the house directly to the outside where it joins the vertical vented waste water pipe about 18 inches away. We’d be moving it closer to the vertical waste pipe. How much work is involved? Would we be better off hiring somebody? We’re experienced DIYers, can do basic plumbing, but have never installed/moved a toilet before. Thanks

Easily done. New hole to the right to take the straight waste. Fill old hole. Change the cold feed to flexible braided line with an cut off valve.

Thanks for all the responses. Looks like we could probably manage it so. @the_pen_turner we'd be moving it away from the rad, towards the bath.

Are you re-tiling the bathroom? Would there be enough give in one of those flexi waste pipe connectors? Put the toilet on top of the tiles if re-tiling, save a lot of hassle in the future.

We will be changing the floor. I wouldn't have thought of putting the toilet on top. That's very helpful, thanks!

No bother. Anything to do with bathrooms is horrible work, the older they are the worse it gets.
