Hi guys have a 2017 golf (mk7 1.6tdi ) and just this evening randomly I couldn't select any gears. Relaxed and checked clutch/brake fluid which was full .. got back pumped clutch pedal 4 or 5 times and went again as normal!! Just got home and checked pipes/ flexi/ cylinder into gearbox and no visual leaks.. anyone any ideas? Cheers

Slave cylinder inside the box leaking. Have seen one or two. Is it a 172, still under warranty?

No 171 with 107 000 kms so no warranty unfortunately!! Shouldn't be too dramatic of a repair bill tho should it? Thanks for the post

Shouldn't be too bad but you may aswell fit a clutch kit at the same time if you're doing that. That's if it is that at all though.

Not sure i get when you say "inside the box" toyotafanboi because I can visually see a slave cylinder externally? Is there some kind of concentric slave cylinder inside the gearbox? Pardon my ignorance

Isn't it just the 2.0 that has the slave cylinder in the box?
