I have just bought a house and have got conflicting information on the payment date for the Stamp Duty. I have been told 28 days but a document I have seen from Revenue indicates 44.
    Which is correct????

"An instrument is chargeable with a penalty if it is not stamped within 30 days of first
execution or has not been lodged for adjudication within that period and stamped
within 14 days of the issue of the notice of assessment."

    Which means that....

"In practice, penalties are not charged if the instrument is stamped within 44 days of execution. When penalties are charged, they are charged
from the date of execution of the instrument."

So the rule is 30 days, but because of the 14 day period after NOA, you don't get penalised for 44 days.
