    Hello
i moved into a new Apartment with Dublin City Council with no flooring Appliances Etc and was told by Dublin City Council to make an Exceptional Needs Payment through the Social Welfare which i applied 4 weeks ago this morning i got a letter from my local Intreo office of a "Notification of Refusal"

"Your application for Assistance under the Supplementary Welfare Allowance Scheme as being refused for the following reasons

Social Welfare Consolidation act 2005 Section 191 Exclusions of persons engaged in full time work. your earnings of Euro520 per week is 319 a week above the Supplemented welfare allowance rate"

to me this looks like i applied for Dole and it has being refused ?
i applied for an Exceptional Needs Payment and not a Dole claim?

This is the payment they're referring to.

Exceptional needs payments are means tested. Your means were calculated at €520 per week and as such you are over the threshold for consideration for a payment.

Your working full-time your not eligible for the exceptional needs payment,

Bargains can be found on Facebook or various charity shops or adverts you can find most stuff you will need

So a PS5 is a priority, but you want an emergency handout for basics for your new apartment?

 Is that not an attempted abuse of the system?

Don't abuse the system OP, especially when hundreds of thousands are unemployed during covid
