The super q cab on my ford 6610 is suffering from rust in places.
Some bits just surface rust but other places is coming out from the inside.

Its fine for working and I'm not taking it to shows or anything but I'd like to prolong it's life as long as possible.

Is there anything preventative I can do?
Is wire brushing and touching up the pain with a brush any good? or will it just make things look worse.

Any touching up should help if done tastefully. But, Ideally it's more than a wire brush job.
As you said, a lot of the rust comes through from the inside. I heard that filling all the cavities in the frame and panels with waxoyl is great to combat that......
