BinckBank Tour 2020

Oymyakon

48 days of consecutive World Tour racing get underway today with the beginning of the 5-day Binck Bank Tour.

Today is a flattish day which should suit the sprinters. I'm backing Ackermann to win today and van der Poel to take the overall.

Trucks parked at the side of the road but partly sticking out into the road just now, of course it was going to cause a crash. Almost looked like they drove onto the course and then were pulled to the side in a hurry

This race had some short comings last year in terms of safety if I recall.

Carnage there. Lot of bodies tangled and fellas holding wrists.

Yeah that was some mess.

Ackermann went very early there!

Bizarre watching the injured limping home here, with assistance from members of other teams.

First to hit the deck didn't appear to be looking where he was going - head down into the fella that had pulled off the front.

Check out the mitchelston Scott rider at the end, got a fair toss but walked away.

That crash was comical, like something out of a cartoon. I know riders are injured but I just had to laugh at it.

The way your man who caused it got up and nonchalantly looked over his shoulder and hastily walked out of shot did make me smile I must admit.

Pedersen wins from Trek. What's the bets now he has an absolutely unbelievable classics campaign now he no longer has the rainbow stripes :rolleyes:

Same again.

I think Pedersen was going to have that campaign if they had been in the spring anyway. He's was 2nd in Flanders and 5th in Dwars door Vlaanderen in 2018. Surprise win in last years Worlds probably shouldn't have been that much of a surprise!
