Eir mobile phone upgrade

I am able to upgrade my mobile phone with eir and was just looking for some advice.

Narrowed it down to the Samsung S10 or the S20 both are free for me. Unless they have some sneaky catch which would not surprise me, The S20 seems like a better phone but doesn't have a headphone socket. I have used blue tooth head phones a few years ago and they wrecked my head. I just wanted to listen to a few tunes and I had more buttons, swipes etc to get going. Then, you would run out of battery. So, thinking of going with S10 as that has headphone socket and S20 doesn't. For people who say, just charge it like your charge your phone. I may not listen for a week and then I want to listen. So it is quite likely I'll forget.

    Any tips?

    Thanks

    You can use an adapter.

You'd be crazy to choose the S10 over the S20. You could pick the S20, sell it, buy the S10 and have some money left over if you really don't want the S20.

Super tip. Turns out the phone isn't free. My current contract is sim only. If I upgrade, I pay between 30 and 60 a month. Boo Boo. Eir.
So looking around second hand. The S10 is about 400 euro and the S20 is harder to get second hand. But a good bit more.

So would you have any advice there? Bear in mind I basically hate eir. I have everything with them broadband, landline etc

If you hate eir move your mobile away from them. Have a look at 48.ie, €8 per month for basically unlimited calls, texts and data

I would agree with the above. Switch to 48 or GoMo and buy something like the Poco X3. :)

Gomo is run by Eir aren't they?
Everyone else is run on the 3 network with the exception of Post Mobile and Vodafone themselves.
Sony are putting headphone jacks back into their flagship phones, the Xperia 1ii and the upcoming 5ii both have the headphone slots reinstated.
Their midrange, the 10ii is carried on a few networks and also has a headphone jack

    This too shall pass.

If your current phone is locked to eir then request an unlock code as it could be useful for trying out other networks or just as a spare handset.
