Build up of soot.

I have a burner in the garage for heating the house. I use timber but the soot builds up extremely fast. I need something to slow down this build up of soot. Its a house I recently bought & this system was there already. Any help.

Where there is soot there is carbon monoxide make sure you have a good detector.
