    Hello,

Asking on behalf of a friend.

Anyone in the Cahirdavin/Clareview area with a skip that has loads of room for a bag of rubbish?

My friend is moving and has a bag junk. His own bin collection subscription is finished

    Cheers

Bring it to a BIGbin, €8 for 2 bags.

    Thank you.

I had never heard of this.

My friend has no transport though and Watch House Cross is quite far to carry it

He also has OCD - a type that would prevent him from going near such a place.

I was actually surprised that he is willing to go near a skip.

    I will suggest that.

I wonder if a taxi driver would drop the bag off at the BigBin?

The BIGBin website doesn’t have much details on what can be put in a BIGBin. And nothing on what cannot be put in.

“Only pay €8 for 2 General Black Bags (80 Litres each) and only €5 for 2 Recycling Bags (80 Litres each).”

Does “general black bags” mean general household waste like the wheelie bin companies take?

I think the rubbish my friend has is stuff where he couldn’t figure out what bin to use.

I know there is a natty sleeping bag and lots of socks with holes. So metal and glass.

Yes, you can put pretty much anything into the BigBin general waste compacter.

Apparently there is a BigBin site in the Circle K in Caherdavin.

I don’t know the area or even Limerick that well but I will pass that on.

I don’t think my friend has the strength at the moment to go to a site like that and will suggest he call a taxi and see if they will drop it in for him. Although as I type I’m thinking what if the driver just dumped the stuff on the side of the road.

Cant see a taxi driver taking a very short fair to dispose of rubbish

Really you're looking for a "man with a van" service. Going by taxi, and you could wind up with a soiling charge. Failing that, friend with a car going to the circle k one.

I've used Matts waste removal a number of times. Very reasonable and they take pretty much anything. No affiliation to them by the way.

There's a few others doing the same things. Probably all charging the same.

My thread was all for nought.

By the time the time I had contacted my friend he had found a skip and the person was happy to let him use it.

    Thank you to everyone.
