I have been listening off and on over the last day or so to the above station, as it was being relayed on two unlicensed frequencies (see Bandscan Thread). Anyway it has been noticed by a few that there are quite a few Irish voices on the station, either presenting or doing ads.

The few I was able to identify:
    - Brian Kelly of Energy Power AM (who were relaying it on 1395 kh MW!) and Charityradio.ie. It's only last week I heard him on that joint effort Fun Radio.

    - Brian Greene of north Dublin community radio station NEAR FM, co-founder of Shining Bright Radio and radio consultant.

    - Keith Shanley of Midlands Radio and charityradio.ie. In recent years, many would know him from Christmas FM.

    - Dave Evans - he name-checked himself today. No idea about his radio background.

Who else and where did they come from? I heard a female Irish voice doing ads for local bars/restaurants!

There’s quite a few more including Kieran Carrick. Andy Preston did Sunday mornings for quite a while and can still be heard on voice overs. Heard the famous Enda Caldwell on some promos too today plus the station is owned by ex Sunset owner Gary Cruise who lives there now.

I remember now about hearing that Gary Cruise had a station there! Andy Preston was of course on Sunset himself - now with Q102.

Enda Caldwell, who also did a turn on Sunset, really does turn up everywhere!

    Who is Kieran Carrick?

I found out myself! Kieran runs a cloud software consulting company. He also is a presenter on Spirit Radio and started presenting on Christmas FM last year.

He is also involved with an Irish online station called planetradio.ie that was launched recently. And while I think of it... he may still be involved with GCR Digital Radio. He has so many strings to his bow!

I heard a small bit of Brian Greene's Northern Soul last night via the Radio Garden app on my phone. He, of course, has a connection with Gary Cruise too. Brian was one of the presenters in the early pre-dance days of Sunset FM.

I had a good look at their schedule on Facebook and found some more Irish presenters.

Some I listened to on Mixcloud as supplied by Real FM to hear if they were Irish where I could not find anything else about them! So, these are Irish:
    - Gary Hayse. Incidentally, looking at their schedule on Facebook, his name is spelt Hayze in one place!
    - Naoise Gaffney
Do you know anything about these two?

    The others are:
Emmet Reilly - Christmas FM and Midlands 103 as a journalist.
Brian Boyle - Christmas FM and bank manager!
Shay Harford - Christmas FM and Spirit Radio
....think I see a pattern here!

I also saw in a link on Facebook to DJ Wicked standing in for Gary Hayse back in 2018. I'm assuming that is the same deejay involved in dance events in the 1990s and Sunset FM and Club FM.

Gary Hayes rings a bell from Sunset and Hot 107

Given the Sunset connections already, that sounds very plausible. On the schedule he is alternatively spelt Hayse and Hayze, and he is spelt Hayse on Mixcloud!

I just found an Radiowaves recording of a Gary Hayes from July 1988 on Radio Dublin. Would this be the same guy?

Different chap! That’s Gary Connor (who did also work in Hot 107 just to confuse matters)

I did find out since that Naoise Gaffney is a professional trainer, facilitator and coach. He's used to talking in public - maybe that's how he got the radio gig. I also noticed on his Facebook account that he broadcast at least some of his shows from a different Canary Island - Lanzarote!
