    Hi All,

Looking for recommendations for a car around the €15k mark.

Currently have a diesel Renault captur and the kids are starting to get bigger and kicking the back off me so need something bit more spacious.

City driving so petrol would be fine, prob around 17k km a year. Husband drives a Passat which I like but after that I don’t know where to start.

Looking for something unproblematic and a decent boot for buggy, kids crap etc

Any suggestions as to where to start?

    Thanks

    Go for an estate.

Megane estate? Should pick up a 17/18 reg in a well equipped mid level spec for that. It would probably be diesel. Not too many petrols about

Currently have a GT Line on rental.

Looks great, drives well, nicely equipped, but poor seats, offset pedals, gammy touchscreen interface and unforgivably tiny cup holders.

Whatever you do get an estate I can't emphasise this enough. I've two young ones and once I got an estate everything changed and was much easier to just lug whatever you need around. I keep spares of stuff for them in the car and still have room for loads of shopping etc.

Had signature Grand Coupe and found it extremely comfortable. Each to their own and yeah the touch screen is not great but I really only used Apple CarPlay so never an issue for me

Skoda Roomster. High back seat, huge windows, enormous boot, 'quirky' look. An ugly duckling.

Toyota Rav 4. I got 2015 one for around that last year. Brilliant boot and space for kids in the back. Do keep an eye out for the sol version with leather seats & electric tailgate.

Audi a4 avant, should be able to get an S line model for that money and the interior is gorgeous compared to some of the other cars mentioned on this thread

    What year though?

You'd almost get a 2016 superb estate for that

Probably around 2013 or 2014 but the interior is nicer than 2016 skoda. Mileage might be higher on the Audi though

Interested in thus too, although my budget of 6-7k a bit more limiting!
