Reliable commercial - Ford Kuga?

    Hi all,

A family member is considering updating their vehicle shortly and I'm looking for advise on what they could change to.

They currently have a 02 Grand Vitara 2L diesel and are looking for something similar - diesel that can tow a few cattle during the year (they don't do much in a year so a Landcruiser, Pajero or similar larger vehicle is out of the question), reliable, preference of a commercial, 2008 onwards and a budget of between €5k - €6k (some room to go up but rather down as they do little mileage in the year).

The main options I've suggested at the minute is another Vitara, Ford Kuga or a Toyota Rav.

I've seen this Kuga below which they like but I'm thinking the price may be net of VAT which would increase the price greatly. They can't reclaim VAT.

Any thought of the Kuga in terms of reliability, towing capacity?

    Thanks in advance.

If you can't claim the VAT there would be no benefit of getting a commercial Kuga, it would probably end up costing more as commercial tax is 333 vs 200 for private and doe is around 110 every year vs 55 for NCT every 2 years. Commercial insurance may be more as well, tolls are also a lot more expensive.

Sorry just seen you were looking for older Kuga, in that case private tax will be more than 500, so they probably equal out then
