Need an electrician for a straightforward install of an electric vehicle home charge-point. Got a hefty quote from a Dublin-based electrical firm for something that's essentially a glorified 32amp outdoor socket. Any recommendations for someone local that won't cost the earth?

Well if you expect someone to drive out from Dublin you will have to pay them for them to drive there and back. Time costs money. There are also a wide variety of EV charger types available with different features so you should consider this when comparing quotes. Personally I would recommend this guy:

For the record I have not worked as an electrician for a very long time, so the above link is not me.
