Just done, found it very easy. So long as you have good records and the place is in good order in the pictures it just really a chat about your milking, vaccinating routine etc. Wouldn't stress too much.

I had mine a couple of weeks back- I found the fella who was organising it to be very helpful- he texted me everything I needed to have and gave me 10 days before the audit to take pictures around the farm as I was going about my daily work- it was a great system especially if your up to date on records- HerdApp from agrinet really worked it’s magic

Are on farm audits expected to resume anytime soon? I thought they had already

It's a choice online audit gets you 12 months, on site visit gets you 18 months.
On site resumes a month or two ago.

Passed the online bord bia audit. This should be the way forward. And why can't bord bia have there own app for uploading info on remedies purchased and used. Things would be much simpler.

Ya can put it back to 2/3 weeks before your QA is about to expire. I done this month ago. If you do this tho you need to make sure and have everything correct and ready to upload as if you don’t and your QA expires it can take a while to get back I’ve been told

You will be given a link and from that you upload photographs. From areas of sheds, crushes, animals and then onto tricker bits, Medicine cabinet, and trickiest of all medicine purchases and usage. They sought 2 most recent pages for each of these categories. So if you used medicines on cows. Then a few days later sold Cull cows just mention, dosed cows excluding cull cows tag no.s.

But why would the record not be filled in right in the first place?

Got sent the link last week. It's not too bad. Already have a lot of the pictures taken already. Would nearly prefer the visit and get an extra 6 months out of it.

The legal requirement is have the remedies for DAFM, not Bord Bia. They only certify that you have passed their quality assurance scheme. It would be very dangerous to be be giving all of that data to a marketing body such as Bord Bia

No, but I had to upload photos of a couple of cards. They could get a full number of those animals if they wanted it..........or did they ask you for a specific animal?

The one longest in the herd (I'm thinking tb test, but agfood shows it). Had screenshot of agfood and photos of blue cards but was asked for a full tag number. Had to log on to get it and they mentioned something about the department but I couldn't fully hear them. But I thought bord bia and dafm were not linked?

Bord Bia couldn't access your Dept of Ag account because of GPDR.

Bord bia look for the info on what you used in terms of have withdrawl periods been adhered to. So no avoiding not providing the info.

Who said things are not filled in right. Some people have herd watch and the likes for their audits. I don't. So it's up to me to ensure all is OK. I have one small area to write in tag numbers. No doubt Herd watch has a better way of recording things.

I see that my next bord bia audit is up mid 2023. Did everyone get an extension.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,458 ✭✭✭hopeso

That seems like a long time. When was your last one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 939 ✭✭✭Aravo

Last one was around this time last year. Maybe some can check their status and see when it's due for renewal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,458 ✭✭✭hopeso

    Where can you check this?

I had mine in Sept last year, and last I heard, by text, was that it would be next April again. So, approx 18 months.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,001 ✭✭✭timple23

You can do your audit up to 4 months before your expiry and not lose an certification, it might be easier for some farmers to get it done in January rather than trying to do it in Spring.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,458 ✭✭✭hopeso

It says mine expires on the 8th of April, which is roughly 18 months after my last audit....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,001 ✭✭✭timple23

You can do your audit in January so and if you get 18 months certification, the 18 months will start from the 8th of April.

At my last renewal, about 12 months ago, I was told it would hold valid for another 12 months, as it was done virtually / remotely. Was then notified subsequently that it's validation period was increased by 6 months again.
