    Hi readers,

Hoping you can assist. My husband recently started working in the North and the company urgently requires a national insurance number.

The thing is, 7/8 years ago he worked for 3 months in the north and had a NIN then but due to the length of time and a lot of moves since he no longer has any record of his number. He also called his old place of employment to see if they have any record of it but to no avail.

Just wondering how does he go about getting this number from years ago?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Someone might be able to help but in the meantime you may be better off posting in an NI specific forum. Or maybe just get him to ring the relevant authority tomorrow.

Hi Dial Hard and Sparko. Thanks so much for your replies you’re so good to take the time to respond.

Just a quick line to let you know what he got sorted out and his NIS is on on route via post.

    Thanks again :-)
