Check with RicherSounds and get a longer warranty.

Done that myself and every respect for Richer Sounds, but right now I'd rather spend a couple of quid, within reason, to buy locally and keep Ireland inc. going. Recession ahead.

~€620 here with code PRODUCT5 if you use Parcel Wizard etc.

Can you get extended warranty if buying somewhere else?

Didn't you recently buy a phone from Xiaomi UK?

Will they carry such a big package without issues?

I've bought twice from them and the second order they cancelled as they wouldn't deliver to Parcel Motel

Depends on which of them you use. Last time I used Parcel Wizard for a large TV and it worked fine without issue, not sure if things have changed since then.

Also some of the Ebay stores don't allow delivery to some of these forwarding services, I'd imagine AddressPal would be the most likely to work if that's the case since they are new and based in London so less likely to be flagged.

Good for you, really admire that.

I bought a tv from Richer Sounds, it developed horizontal lines after 4 years, Richer Sounds sent out a brand new tv, no questions asked. Shame they're not based down here though

Haha yes. :pac: I'd buy it locally if I thought anywhere had it, but I'm not immune from ignoring my own advice and buying online.

No need for any of this, your statutory rights go past any manufacturer or shop warranty

Would your statutory rights cover replacement of a TV for 6 years?
You might win in court, or you might not, and having an extended warranty is superior to chasing up a retailer beyond the manufacturers warranty (regardless of what your rights actually are) IMO.

Imagine you bought a TV at an excellent price, you loved it and it worked great but then it stopped working after six years. It would be incredibly petty to expect to get a refund for it if it didn't include or you didn't pay for an extended warranty.

It’s worth noting the 6 year warranty with richer sounds is not an added on extended warranty. You don’t pay extra for it. They give it as standard (or at least used to).

They do this as you have this right anyway as part of your statutory rights.

Imagine arguing with Curry’s or Harvey Norman to try and get your rights 5 years after dropping 1200 quid on an expensive telly. Good luck with that. Some of their brands might carry a longer warranty.

Richersounds are exceptional to deal with. I have bought 6 TVs from them over the last 7 years and all still going strong.

How does someone manage buy 6 tvs in 7 years? You must either live in a massive house or else have an addiction to buying TV's. Intrigued to how you manage this as if they all working perfect none must've been to replace each other.

Been looking at a 65" LG Nanocell TV.. roughly the same price across RicherSounds, Curry's etc. But I'll give RS my business as they're fantastic to deal with.

I just can't justify the premium for 4K.

Many people having bought an LG tv and had issues in 4 or 5 years and told to buy another one.

Maybe we all dont know of our statutory rights of how long it should last

    Went looking and found this.

Statutory rights are provided for by legislation (Irish law and EU law as transposed in Ireland). ... Consumers may rely on their statutory rights regardless of whether an item has a warranty or not. Under Irish law, consumers have up to six years to seek redress for faulty or defective items (both new and second-hand).

I bought one of the LG nano cell models around a year ago and I find it a fantastic TV, everyone remarks how clean, sharp and natural it is to view. Have no doubts they are a great TV.

Six years old, he bought it in Clara markets. Do you think they'll give him a new tv as replacement?
