What can anyone tell me about this? It was loose in a batch of US militaria that I bought. The back is blank, it doesn't appear to function and I'm not going to crack it open in case it never goes back together again.

Interesting lack of the usual bow attachment for a pocket watch. Maybe a dashboard clock? Or maybe a gun camera clock, though they're more stark a dial layout for maximum visibility on camera.

Could the "glass" be a replacement? It seems to be plastic of one form or another. The lot it was part of varies from 1870 to modern so htere's not anything that can be linked to the piece.
