Where may I get one of these, please? Internal grommet sealing's gone. Sorry about the entire balls of the first shot / measurement :o

Internet seems to show every clever attachment ye could wish for. Once ye get a sound, basic tap unit, like this

We found a blank cap that fitted the outlet.

Added a fitting for a domestic water tank through the cap and you can add a lever valve onto that.

Cap from a 20 litre drum of oil fits I thinks

Is it a fine thread one?
Add fine thread to your search. Amazon have fine thread to coarse thread adaptors.

There is no tap unit with this, but you can add the standard array of fancy adaptors, just chose one with it's own tap.

Thanks, lads. Bad day's just getting worse!

I never even thought to examine the outlet side of things :o

Three inches across. Looks like what ye'd call a 'Course' thread, yeah?

A straight, screw on cap would be fine, by the way. I've seen all the various attachments, including good taps, ye can get to go with one.

I'll try googling for " 3" Screw Cap, Course Thread " and see what I get.

 Patsy; That link's throwing me a 403 / Forbidden.

    Get a measuring tape and measure;
    - outside diameter of thread
    - pitch of thread. That is top of one thread to the next thread top

There are 6 different sizes in the link above.

Try Hosetech in little island cork

    Outside diameter is 75mm.

Thread? I'm sorry. My eye's just aren't up to that :(

    It's a 75 x 6 mm thread.

    From the link above;
    Outlet type: S75x6
When your original IBC valve is broken / defect you can replace it with our S75x6 adapter on which you can add a ball valve. Only possible with IBC tanks of the brand: Schütz, Fustiplast and Clawson.
    DIAMETER OUTLET
    75mm
    THREAD TAPE DISTANCE
    6mm
    top

Excellent! Thanks, Patsy! Now we can see the bloody rabbit :)

Just gone and looked. My tanks metal plate says it's a Mauser? What ever. If I can just find the cap, I can do the rest.

That link won't work for me. Don't know why. (Firefox on Linux. Linux can be a swine at times) Have you a name, please? I'll try googling the place.

Pod; I have Hosetech open and, failing all else, I'll ring them, now I know what to ask for ;)

Well if it's the standard course IBC thread then Brian is right the lid of a 20L oil drum fits, drill it and put any tap you want on it.

Thanks, lads. I'm having an absolute mare here. But, things are looking up! I finally burrowed through to the site Patsy's trying to show me? Amazing place! :D German outfit. Has Everything IBC ~ including genuine Mauser taps! The exact one I have!

Just emailed them to confirm and I'll be getting a straight replacement, for a score plus shipping. Whack it straight on, out of the box! That'll do! :D

This looks like the site that link is pointing to:

Dear god, Jimbo! That's a completely different place to the one I found. How did that happen?!

No matter. I now have belt and braces! I'll get this bugger sorted, one way or another :D

Right now, I'm off to watch a long film. Give my brain a rest ;)

    Thanks, lads.

What a stroke of luck!!! :D Emailed the German place. Sent them photo's 'n all, as their site asks? ..... Nothing! Like so many firms today, they just can't be arsed to do small business.

Was thinking about Brian's idea and wondering where I might grab such a lid. Spotted my plastic jerry can ..... Nope! Just too small / too slim a thread? What ever.

Just walked out of my room and I stopped. " Have I not got an old home brew barrel lid in there? I wonder ..." :D:D:DSorted!!!
