    Hi people of Boards,

I am really having a hard time making a decision between 2 short term work contracts available to me, even after discussions with my family, and was hoping for some outsider advice.

Background- I was made redundant due to Covid. No work in that industry in the next year for sure at an absolute minimum.

I have been offered 2 contracts with every element of them different. 1. Public service short term for approx 5 months at a rate lower than what I am qualified for. Pros- there may be potential after this to get additional work as you are within the system?
    2. Private industry for 9 months at double the salary, much small potential for it to be extended.

Work is similar in nature so not a deciding factor. People and culture are again similar- both seem lovely.

I guess I am just finding it hard to make a decision as with Covid everything seems more complicated in my head! I'm stressing about something I would have made up my mind in no time pre Corona!

Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thank you

I would go with the private sector one. Its longer and better money.

No-one knows whats going to happen in the next few months, good or bad.

The Public Service could declare a recruitment embargo and your contract could last its length and not be renewed.
