Looking to get a trade price for my car so I can know how much to try advertise privately and then know what my tailback price is for a trader to offer potentially. Maybe a cartell or motorcheck enter the reg job for me. Can DM description and pics. Cheers

go onto zucar website and they do a valuation service. they will buy it too if its a decent car.

Carzone will give you a value for it.

Zucar is Joe Duffy. So you will get rock bottom price and they will prob just sell on to a trader.

save the hassle and put it though Merlin auctions.

Are the carzone values not just 'retail values'....Dont know how accurate it is as my Golf is a GTD so I've a feeling it just takes a wide sweep of all Golfs in the same year bracket?

    What do most garages use?

Not true. Sold my car to them yesterday. Quite happy with the price offered and the service. They are retailing the car on their own forecourt. If the car is decent, they will offer you a fair price for it.

Golf GTD values have fallen through the basement by the way...

    Around 17-19k, depending on mileage/condition.

I hope you are wrong but in terms of retail :), they are only like 1000 less than they were this time last year when I was buying. Might look them up but I'm at the other end of the country so prob will go to an indie closer

Yeah 94km (in white) hence trying to do something before crossing 100km. Timing belt/ rear shocks/ fresh 2yr NCT/ fresh brake pads+disks all round in last 10,000km so I'd be holding out for 18+. Wheels may need a refurb but mechanically the big jobs offset this.

You could be holding out a long time.

There's a lot of GTD's out there, a lot of UK imports in Indie dealers with similar mileage as that.

Yeah I was wondering had Irish garages been finding it difficult to get imports hence maybe wanting the car.

Just trying to get an idea on a price for DD before the €8k brigade start phoning!!:D:D
