I'm currently on the EPC3925 having heard awful things about its replacement, I decided to stick with it. I'm just using it for incoming signal, have disabled the Wifi and connected it to an Archer C7 router for the Wfi

I'm finally upgrading from 120Mbs to 250Mbs and they say I need a new modem/router - any information on what the current one is like? Should I continue to use the Archer box for Wifi?

    Thanks

When I went to the 250 they sent me a new router, the v3 I think, not the newest one anyway but it looks much the same.

I started having dropouts and after a while asked to re-enable the EPC3925 and have been running on that ever since. So it can do it.
Just not any more than that I think.

I think in every case a proper wifi setup is better than their boxes.

I got the 500Mb recently and they gave me a Hub 3.0. I also have an Archer C7. It's a no brainer to use the C7 for WiFi. No issues with the Hub with WiFi disabled.

I don't see why you'd need a new modem for the 250 Mb/sec package - I have the 3925 and am on the legacy 240 Mb/sec pacakge - I think this modem is rated for 300+ (but could be wrong)

    EPC can manage it.

EPC is stable once kept cool. HUB3.0 early on was a disaster, theyve mitigated but not resolved its issue. It will still crash if you send enough pps at it bridged or not. Virgin should have started a phased replacement program when the whole industry realised how bad PUMA6 is.

I can also confirm that the 3925 works fine with the 240. I use it bridged to an ASUS router.

Wish I still had the 3925 , it was more reliable than the Hub 3 I have now.
