Just wondering how do most Irish people finance cars that they import from the UK ? Anyone any thoughts on this ?

Are you talking about a car you import yourself or buy from a dealer over here?

If you are importing yourself then some lending institutions may insist that it's bought from a VAT registered dealer, some may not even lend money for a car purchased outside the country. It also depends on the type of loan/finance you are applying for. A secured car loan or hire purchase loan may have those type of restrictions whereas an unsecured personal loan or credit union type loan would not but they command a higher interest rate.

A car that I buy from a dealer over there. So I would bring it in, i.e I flight over go to the dealer and drive it back here.
