    Hi,

I know this may have be answered before but p60's don't seem to exist anymore so looking for some help with the following.

    1. Documentation verifying the new registered owner’s name and address. The following documents will only be accepted: Original P60, Bank/Financial Institution Statement, Credit Card Statement, Utility bill (Electricity, Gas, TV Service Provider eg SKY/UPC, Landline phone bill and Mobile Telephone (Bill pay only)). If a hard copy utility bill/bank statement cannot be provided, two online statements from two different service providers must be submitted.  One of the online statements must be from a Utility provider and the other a Bank Statement. Please note original documentation will only be accepted and must be no older than 6 months

Original p60 does not seem to exist anymore its now a “Employment detail Summary” which seems to be only online and can't find a way to get an original documentation from revenue for it
I have an original letter from revenue from December 2019 but that's past the 6 months period.
I've ordered an online bank statement so should have this on time. I also can print off my broadband provider but I have no order household bills in my name. My broadband provider do not provide original documentation its all online. Its AIRWIRE in Galway.
So I should be able to satisfy this requirement

    2. Personal Public Service (PPS) Number of the person in whose name the vehicle shall be registered to (Official documentation will only be accepted i.e Social Services Card, P60)

For my PPS Number I have my driving license but I never updated the address on it when I moved house last year will this be an issue. I have payslips but again they are all online so not original can I use these? I have a passport could this be used. Is there anything else I can use.

    Same boat, I don't have a p60.

How did that work out for you in the end?

I have it booked for the 19th.
I asked work for original payslips which they sent me but they are just print offs.
I'll use that balancing statement on revenue and print it off not much else I can do to be honest.

alright thanks for the reply. Mine is on the 29th of this month. I'm going to bring a document from revenue with my PPS number on it which I got from doing my sole trader tax, hopefully they will accept it as proof of PPS.

I've moved on to worrying about https://www.ncts.ie/media/1003/vrtformfinal-version.pdf not loading anymore so can't see what stuff I might be missing to fill out that form. it's on the required documents to bring list but link is broken

Wouldn't the new prsi card not just work for this.... Handiest thing.

yeah new card would make it easy. Haven't had a reason to get one myself yet and with covid and time pressure I doubt I'd get one before my VRT date.

    I found that form VRTFORMFINAL-VERSION.pdf

    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=529170&stc=1&d=1602611478

attaching it here in case anyone during covid is looking for it.. they might not fix their website quickly..

search terms below to help future googlers find it

    missing vrt form

    vrt form declaration

Please print and fill out the following Declaration Form for the Registration of a used Vehicle/ Motorcycle

Hi OP, for proof of address, any revenue document under 6 months is fine. But if you have ordered the bank statement bring that with your broadband bill. Or if you can't, go to the bank and get a statement stamped by the bank. We can accept those.

Your pps isn't on your driving licence or passport. You can use any revenue document (doesn't have to be under 6 months old) payslips can be printed. Or e111 card, medical card/green social welfare card.

Would bank correspondence providing a security code to set up a sepa online account suffice or does it have to be a bank statement? With all the push to do everything online, including by Rvenue ironically, for environmental reasons its becoming more and more difficult to provide original correspondence. Actually on that note would a bank statement printed from online banking app suffice as it will have company logo etc?

You’ll need to get the bank statement stamped

Thanks for that. That raises the issue of trying to get into a bank during working hours. What about the other bank correspondence. One would think the SEPA activation code letter clearly proves that the holder resides at that address?

Its actually very frustrating. I have a ROS account in which allows me to complete my tax affairs online including making online payments and yet I can't register a car using printouts from this site or my banking online site. I think further thought is required on how people engage with the VRT service in this day and age.

    Hey
So just to update did the VRT and it went fine. They used a Revenue letter from 2019 I had. Also brought that balancing statement.
Used original AIB bank statements and printed off payslips.
Really easy I arrived early and they did the doc's while waiting for someone to be free to look at the car.

Bank statements are always mentioned when referring to bank correspondence but what about other official bank correspondence? I have e-statements only but have recently received a letter from the bank providing me with an online SEPA activation code for my current account. Would the VRT accept that letter in the same manner as an actual bank statement? Its seems so restrictive in this day and age to consider that a traditional bank statement is the only bank correspondence acceptable as proof of address given that almost every aspect of our lives has moved online.

Whats the issue tho? You can get a bank statement posted out to you for free in 2/3 days with the click of a button or you can print an online one at home or in the bank and have it stamped at the bank and it will be accepted then.

Its not just VRT that require bank statements as proof of address, you can’t just rock up to places with a random letter from the bank that happens to have your name and address on it and expect them to accept it

Not wishing to make an issue about it but I'm not clear why would a recent letter from a bank on official paper including your name and bank account details and providing you with an activation code for your account be considered so inferior to a bank statement of the same account. I get it though .. VRT asks so Joe Public must deliver or swing .. but not clear why bank statements are considered a better proof of address that any other bank correspondence. In any case I have printed off a bank statement and got a random bank branch to certify it .. god knows what difference that actually makes.

Just saw this thread, an e statement printout would have sufficed, I showed this when my car was vrt inspected, I didn't get it stamped by the bank and this was accepted no problems. You will need to show a further proof of address. The fact the bank stamped your statement they may view this as an original but i'd still bring a copy of utility bill/bill.
An original bank/credit card statement avoids a need a show a second proof of address.
Good luck with the process its very straightforward.

A letter from a bank is fine. A letter with an activation code is not OK. Those generally don't have dates on them.
