Nvidia 2070 Super Card price Drop ?

I'm nearly ready to order some components for a new PC. I read here somewhere that the Nvidia 20xx cards are gonna price drop when the 30xx cards are out... but they are out (aren't they). So, anybody know when I might expect a price drop ? I might hang on until then to order if it's not too far away.

    Thanks.
    H./

Cards are not officially out till the 17th of this month (3080 only), with the other variants staggered over the next 2 months . Even after hte 3080 launch it will take a few weeks more or less for the 20 series cards to drop in price. Personally I would not be buying a new 20 series card unless you really have to. You will get a higher spec card on the 2nd hand market....

Alot of online retailers are slashing the stock of the 20 series cards, OCUK used to have about 15 different 20 series cards listed they have about 4 now.

If you can wait I really would advise to do so.....

I doubt we'll see many discounts on new 20 series cards. They were all discontinued by Nvidia a couple of months back in an attempt to lower stock levels ahead of the 30 series, to prevent big price cuts affecting the sales of their new cards.

You might be able to pick up a cheap used card on adverts if you keep an eye out over the next couple of months, but it'll likely be the 3070 release that'll affect the value of the 2070 super and not so much the more expensive 3080.
