Mental illness and parenting supports

I’m having a very difficult time at the moment with a mental health disorder and am not responding well to the therapy Im in. I started strong medication a few weeks ago and had horrendous side affects but am pushing on with them in the hope they will start working soon. The medication would be known for this so not unique so I know its somewhat normal to experience what I did and progressively improved . Are there any supports that can help me with supports for my children, more so the eldest as they are at an age where there is parental support and guidance needed but unfortunately depending on how severe my condition is I feel they are not getting support and care they deserve.

In April/ May my condition got significantly worse and has continued to do so. Im not sure if it the stresses of lockdown/homeschooling/ etc that contributed to this. The only time Im at peace is when Im asleep so waking up is difficult. Someone is helping me at the moment but this is only temporary and there is a lot of confrontation. Im extremely difficult to be around at the moment as Im quite unstable a lot of the time, can be unpredictable and completely irrational. . Ive been to peta house but its not suitable for my situation, Ive been to gp, psychiatrist, consultant ongoing and am now on medication. Are there any other supports that are available that I can contact as Ive tried to get better but its not happening. I realised how serious mental health conditions can be but never thought I’d be in this position experiencing it first hand. It’s tough

    Hi Guesttosite

Thank you for your post. Firstly, I'm very sorry to read what you're going through.

Although I'm sure posters here would offer support to you, I think it would be best to try your GP again and seek guidance from them on how best to address your concerns. They are in the best position to be able to help you.

I'm going to close this thread here, but wish you the very best with your journey.

    Take care

    Hannibal
