No a mistake from Sky bbc I Player is not on Sky for the Irish Republic.

However RTE Player is on catch up.

Its only a cut down version of Rte player, Virgin media player and All4 player on Sky Ireland. And to make it worse, the Virgin media programmes are in SD only. Why we are only getting cut down versions, I've no idea.

If Virgin Media HD was available via Sky in Ireland then Virgin would have to have their channels in HD on Saorview ...... which they obviously do not wish to do.

This is very misleading from Sky concerning BBC iplayer.

One for the Advertising Standards people? Things only change if complaints are made.

To be fair, it's clearly an error on their part. They are not advertising it as something they offer, it's buried in a bunch of menus of help only.

    Sorry but that's no excuse.
