Planning and house location

Do you have to build in the exact location that you have shown the house when applying for planning?

I’m just wondering as we have planning, but I’d like to make the front garden bigger. Could we build the house back 1.5 meters from where we’ve shown on the planning application?

Would this require resubmitting, is it ok to make a small change like that, or could we apply for retention afterwards?

Apply for planning now for alterations to previously approved.
Don’t do it afterwards as if it’s refused and conditioned to be relocated you are screwed.

It may affect distances etc to waste treatment, soak pit etc

Ok thanks. Is it a full new application?

It is a new application as the location of the house will change on site location maps etc, you may be able to re-use building plan and elevations etc.

I take it, it’d be completely nuts to start before submitting?

You would, have a chat with the local planning officer first
