Which means Energy = Mass × speed of light squared. So basically energy and mass are much the same thing and are interchangeable.

Maybe watch Star Trek and it explains ot eventually but even if not 100per cent correct at least you would be watching a great show.

Energy and mass are manifestations of the same thing. They are equivalent per the famous formula. Energy can become mass and mass can become energy.

Think of a match stick. It has mass but it is also condensed energy which we can observe under certain conditions. Strike it up and you can see how it is also energy i.e. the thermal energy, the electromagnetic radiation (i.e. the light from the flame) etc.

How do we know these genius scientists didn't just make up their own gobbledygook language that is basically a load of nonsense!? :P

Even Einstein said it himself "If you can't explain it to the dumbest person in the room, then you don't really understand it very well yourself!"

It is my contention, therefore, that most people don't really understand this stuff... they just pretend to so they can look clever! :D

The holodeck in Star Trek is a great way to explain it and yes I know it's not real yet. A holographic character is just energy turned into mass but done using light and when turned off it goes back to being energy.
Food is another way. When we have it on our plate it is mass but we then eat it and it becomes energy for us. It's not gone away it's just been changed into fuel for us when we consume it.
The matchstick above was another great example.

It's an interesting question. Did we invent or discover math.
