Discovery 3 timing belt change

A friend of mine recently bought a 2005 Discovery 3 (TD V6) with about 140K mls on the clock.
He got a service history with it but no mention of cambelt having been changed.
We both do our own repairs etc over the years and have changed many timing belts in both petrol and diesel cars.
He is considering changing the timing belts himself and asked me to help - and do some research also.
It seems that it is considered advisable to change the oil pump also as one of the tensioners is mounted on a lug on the oil pump - which can crack and cause a disaster.
Just wondering if anyone on here has ever done this job and could offer some advice etc.

There's a YouTube channel called saving salvage that did cylinder head and much more on one last year. Then the fella's brothercdrove it into deep water and they changed the engine.

    Good info there I think

    Sorry name is salvage rebuilds

    Hope that helps

Do them every day of the week on the discos dealing with a v6 is a little different now then your standard belt. Even better do a v8. Ah no all joking aside there is a little bit of stripped I’d be ordering a fan belt tensioner along with the timing belt and water pump. Eh what else could I tell ya. Well if ya had the Land Rover spanner’s for cracking open the viscos fan that might help.
I could also tell you every other part that you are going to end up changing on it but we will leave that for another day
