Carpet glue on skirting boards

Is there anything that will remove carpet glue from skirting boards. They were only painted the week before. Didn't spot it until the carpet fitters had left.

Have tried household cleaners, elbow grease and white spirits. They're brown stains that could be mistaken for vomit so I really want to get rid of them.

You should contact the carpet fitter to rectify the issue, or come up with a solution.

White spirits on a cloth should do the trick.
