Is my TV Goosed?

Randomly for no reason horizontal lines the width of the screen appeared on the top of my LED TV (Samsung UE40D6100). Didnt take a knock from anything. Is it goosed? Worth repairing? Its a discontinued model. Can it be sold as scrap? The horizontal lines represent about 1 inch at the top screen. Muppet Man
