    Hi Guys,
I just paid 2K to have some of my walls plastered, It was a one coat system :(
    all out of bags..

I do know the capping on this wall are all loose, and not much mortor between the joints, so it could be letting a lot of water down.
But what do you think of this situation? should I drill a little hole and check if he has 10mm of cover in the plaster?

    Thanks

It's really annoying, I never intended to paint the wall, I just didn't want to be looking at the blockwork and now I'm back to the start, looking at the blockwork

    Maybe painting might work?

I'm looking to see if anyone has the knowledge of what went wrong before I approach the plasterer...I don't think it should be like this, he might have gone too thin with the coat

A couple of coats will cover that you would knock it out in a day

Yes and then repeat the process every 10 years :) I wanted to avoid the painting process, and don't mind the look of the plaster, but looks like I'm screwed now

Have both sides of the wall been plastered? I am not sure if that is your own house or a neighbours house behind the wall.

That's the neighbors apartment block over the wall, good question, yes both sides have being plastered...I'll get a shot of the other side ;p

Checked out the backside of the wall which is rendered 'properly' no bloody ghosting there!! Does anyone know how I would investigate this job?

The only way to render external block work thats going to be left unpainted is
    Drown wall
    Heavy scud
    Wet wall
    Scratch coat
    Wet wall
Top coat with a nap finish.

Any other system is only OK for internals and overpainting.
Even with the k rend and one coat products any one with experience would apply the scud and scratch method.
You'd be amazed at the amount of plaster work just hanging on houses everywhere due to no scuding coat applied.
